Our apartment in Istanbul was near multiple mosques, each of which played their own ezan, or call to prayer, to summon the faithful at set times during the day. We caught this Ögle (midday call) from our balcony.
Here is a schedule and the name of each call in Turkish and Arabic, respectively, from BlueMosque.co
|Call name||Call time|
|Imsak/Fajr||Two hours before dawn|
|Yatsi/Isha||Evening, right before the last light of day disappears|
We used a white noise app and slept soundly through all calls.
